NBA Rumors: Clippers Have Made Lou Williams And Patrick Beverley Available In Trade Talks

2 Min Read

The Los Angeles Clippers have one of the best rosters in the NBA. With Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Serge Ibaka, and others, they have a deep and balanced group of guys that are capable of making some serious noise in the West.

Still, according to Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer, the team could be ready to move on from two of their core players: scoring guard Lou Williams and defensive juggernaut Patrick Beverley.

“Los Angeles has made it widely known that Lou Williams is available, sources said, and there’s a cohort in that front office ready to move on from Patrick Beverley as well,” Fischer wrote.

As the Clippers shoot for the Finals, they are expected to be amongst the most active teams on the trade deadline.

Williams, who has played with the Clips for over four seasons, is considered one of their best scorers. A 3x Sixth Man of The Year winner, and 14 point-per-game scorer, he has an absurd level of talent. Unfortunately, Williams may already be headed for his decline. This season, he’s shooting just 39% from the field and some believe only a change of scenery can help him recover.

Beverley is almost the exact opposite type of player. A trash-taler and defensive pest, he’s often seen as the tone-setter for the Clippers and a guy who helps lead the charge in their efforts to guard the opposition.

It seems likely that the Clippers will get offers for both players, but it will ultimately be up to them to decide what will be enough.
