NBA Rumors: Lakers Could Land Victor Oladipo For Kyle Kuzma And Danny Green

The Los Angeles Lakers have looked great at times this season but it’s been clear that they could use a third scoring option down the stretch. Kyle Kuzma’s scoring has been on and off and they need someone who can consistently help LeBron James and Anthony Davis carry the load.

And, according to Jason Reed of Fansided’s Lake Show Life, the Lakers and Indiana Pacers could engage conversations on a potential move that could send Victor Oladipo to the Staples Center in return for Kyle Kuzma, Danny Green, and their 2020 first-round pick:

“If the Los Angeles Lakers and Indiana Pacers were going to do a two-team swap for Victor Oladipo then this would probably be the offer that the Pacers would receive and would be the highest the Lakers could really go. You could make the case of throwing Talen Horton-Tucker in the deal, but the Lakers seem to really like THT. Now, this might seem like a low price for Oladipo and it admittedly is. However, we also have to realize that Oladipo is coming off an injury where he did not look like the same Oladpio this season. Plus, the Pacers are only trading one year of Oladipo,” read the report.

It’s clear that the Pacers have moved on from the combo guard. TJ Warren and Domantas Sabonis have proven to be trustworthy scoring options, and Malcolm Brogdon’s ball-handling has taken a lot of touches away from Oladipo.

When healthy, Oladipo is one of the best two-way players in the league. However, he’s actually struggled to stay on the court. Then again, he’s still pretty young and the Lakers know it’s a risk, but he’s got a far higher upside than Kuzma and Danny Green hasn’t been that good for them anyway.

The Lakers are reportedly going to be quite aggressive in their pursuit for a third start this summer, and considering what they had to give up to pull this trade off, it sounds like a very reasonable move for Rob Pelinka and the purple and gold.
