NBA Rumors: Miami Heat Want To Trade For Rudy Gay

1 Min Read

In the season following their trip to the NBA Finals, the Miami Heat haven’t delivered on keeping their momentum alive.

Amid injuries and a changed landscape in the Eastern Conference, the Heat just haven’t been themselves, and it is costing them. Through 27 games, Miami is just 11-16 for 10th in the East.

Considering their poor start, team President Pat Riley is likely to consider a number of changes to the roster — one of which might include adding Spurs swingman Rudy Gay.

Gay, 34, is a 14-year veteran and career 17-point-per-game scorer. While his best days are behind him now, he offers a major scoring punch for Miami, who need all the help they can get at this point.

The Heat are 27th in points per game, with a scoring average of just 106.6. They are also in the bottom half of the league for field goal percentage (46.3%).

It remains to be seen how the team will handle these next few weeks, and who else might be on their radar. But, considering their current position, taking a look at Rudy Gay might not be such a bad idea…
