NBA Rumors: Knicks Could Land JJ Redick

2 Min Read

Even with an 11th place standing in the East, the New York Knicks have been among the biggest surprises in the East this season.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau has the team playing inspired basketball, and young guys like RJ Barrett and Julius Randle are exceeding expectations.

Considering the state of things, it’s no surprise to hear the Knickerbockers as buyers in the trade market. And, according to Dan Feldman of NBC Sports, they are the preferred destination of veteran sharpshooter JJ Redick.

“He has not played well and not happy and wants to be traded,” Windhorst said, via Dan Feldman of NBC Sports. “Would really like to be traded to the Northeast, where his offseason home is in Brooklyn. He’d love to go to Brooklyn, the Knicks, Boston or Philly. That has been communicated out there. It’s been known for a week or two.”

The link between Redick the Northeast has been reported once already, with the Sixers, Celtics, and Nets named as the likely landing spots.

Now, though, it seems like the Knicks are also in the fold, even despite not being title contenders. At this point, it seems like JJ is more focused on location than being with a team that can bring him a title.

The question is: will the Knicks really be his next team? His shooting and experience will certainly make them better, but it remains to be seen if they’ll be willing to pay the price.
