NBA Rumors: Oklahoma City Thunder Exploring The Market On Steven Adams

Sam Presti has done it again. Just hours after players could officially be traded, he managed to send Chris Paul and his massive contract away to the Phoenix Suns in return for a first-round pick and multiple spare parts.

That comes just a couple of days away after he agreed on a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers for this year’s first-round pick and Danny Green – who’s also likely to be traded.

So, with the Thunder hitting the rebuild button, there’s a growing belief around the league that the next man out of the team will be Steven Adams:

“With Chris Paul going to the Suns, executives believe the Thunder will explore the trade market on Steven Adams. No CP3 also affects the chances of Danilo Gallinari leaving,” Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported.

Adams is set to make $27,528,090 this season and will become a free agent at the end of the year thus becoming an obvious trade candidate for Presti and contending teams looking for a big man. Steven Adams is one of the best pick-and-roll defenders in the league. He’s physical, strong, and can even hold his own in the perimeter as a defender, although his offense is limited, to say the least.

Then again, considering the shortage of big men in the league and the fact that he must showcase his talents as he enters a contract year, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before the University of Pittsburgh product finds a new home.
