NBA Rumors: Philadelphia 76ers Would Have To Give Up Tyrese Maxey, Mattisse Thybulle, Or Draft Picks In Kyle Lowry Sign And Trade

2 Min Read

Kyle Lowry is a player that has been linked with every team that is a move away from being a contender, and for good reason, as he is a great shooter and playmaker. One of the teams he has been linked with is the Philadelphia 76ers, his hometown team. Due to their cap situation, it seems as though the only way they will be able to acquire Lowry is via sign-and-trade.

While sign-and-trades aren’t the most common occurrence, a move is entirely possible for the Philadelphia 76ers. However, it seems as though they will have to give up valuable assets if they want the Toronto Raptors to facilitate a sign-and-trade. A recent article by Rich Hoffman of The Athletic revealed that the 76ers would have to trade Tyrese Maxey, Mattisse Thybulle, or draft picks if they want to land Lowry.

Whether it’s Tyrese Maxey, Matisse Thybulle or draft picks, the Sixers would have to send something of value back beyond Hill and Curry for Masai Ujiri to accept a deal.

It is clear that the Toronto Raptors want some sort of compensation to deal the 6-time All-Star to Philadelphia. However, the price would be worth it, as it would give the 76ers another All-Star to pair with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. Kyle Lowry is a great playmaker with the ability to get his own shot and seems like a perfect fit in Philadelphia.
