According to LJ Ellis of Spurs Talk, the San Antonio Spurs have been 'busy' after Kyrie requested a trade, as they could go for the 2016 NBA champion in a move that would fit both the Spurs and Nets. 

With the NBA trade deadline less than a week away, the front office of the San Antonio Spurs was already very active. According to a source close to the team, San Antonio’s phone lines got even noisier following the news that Kyrie Irving has asked the Brooklyn Nets to trade him. 

Ellis explains that the 5-time NBA champions have a lot of cap space right now, which could be used to get unwanted contracts. Moreover, the Nets have an interest in certain players from the Texans, and they could move Kyrie there for a veteran duo.
