NBA Rumors: Washington Wizards Could Trade Kyle Kuzma And Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

Over the last few weeks, the headlines have been full about the Washington Wizards superstar Bradley Beal. The 28-year-old has spent his entire career with the Wizards so far and is yet to make any real progress towards winning an NBA Championship.

So it’s quite obvious that Beal might be looking for a move elsewhere this offseason. In fact, there were rumors that he is considering opting out of his player option this season, but Beal reacted to it in a confusing manner.

Either way, whether Beal stays with the team is up for discussion in the coming weeks. What we know for sure is the fact that the Wizards are considering moving other pieces around Beal.

If the Wizards want to strengthen their squad this season, they need to trade a few pieces to get quality pieces. Per Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, it appears that Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will be the first players to be traded.

Via Bleacher Report:

“The Pacers have most consistently discussed Brogdon trades with the Knicks and Wizards ahead of Thursday’s NBA draft, sources said, but there’s a strong sense of skepticism from league officials that Brogdon would be moved to either Washington or New York in a package centered around the No. 10 or No. 11 pick.

The Wizards have been willing to discuss Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in trade conversations, sources said.”

Malcolm Brogdon could turn out to be a great addition to the current Wizards squad. But at the same time, Kuz had a great 2021-22 season and has certainly increased his value in the market since his days with the L.A. Lakers.

At this point in time, these are nothing but rumors. If they are true, maybe it will convince Beal to stay with the Wizards and give it another shot. But the question remains, will trading for Brogdon be enough to make the Wizards a title contender? Most likely, the answer is no.
