NBA Rumors: Wizards Could Land Jerami Grant Or Domantas Sabonis To Keep Bradley Beal ‘Happy’

After a promising start to the season, the Washington Wizards have lost a step, struggling to get things going in a competitive Eastern Conference. The capital team is trying to surpass what they did last season, where they played in the first round of the playoffs, but their current roster won’t be enough to even make it past the play-in tournament.

They have a very sought-after player in Bradley Beal, somebody who draws a lot of attention from around the league. There are plenty of rumors surrounding the All-Star shooting guard right now, with some saying he’s set to stay with the Wizards, while others claim he could ignore a huge payday and try his luck with a different organization.

Meanwhile, the Wizards are trying to prove they can build around Beal and create a competitive squad. That’s why they’re reportedly looking to add one player that will have an instant impact on the team.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Wizards could land one of Jerami Grant and Domantas Sabonis before the trade deadline in an attempt to keep Beal ‘happy.’

Several people I’ve spoken to around the league believe the Wizards will look to go big-game hunting with the trade deadline coming up to keep Bradley Beal happy, and they could look to acquire Domantas Sabonis or Jerami Grant.

Beal and the Wizards are at a crossroads in a sense. The second half of the season is going to go a long way in determining if Beal will want to take a max extension with the Wizards or if he’s going to look to move on and try to win elsewhere. This year, he’s gotten more teammates involved. He’s averaging a career-high in assists (6.6) per game, even though his scoring has decreased, and he’s shooting a career-low 30 percent from three-point range.

These two are interesting options for the Wizards, and there are more teams interested in acquiring Sabonis or Grant’s services. However, it’s unclear if Washington will be a lot better with any of them, knowing that Beal works better as a second option instead of being the main guy on a team.

Well, perhaps having a second star by his side will convince the shooting guard to stay with the Wizards, but nothing points out he will actually stay in D.C. past this season.
