Nikola Jokic has revealed the biggest grudge rival of his career; Taco Bell. The fast food chain’s commercial famously played during the second round of the 2015 NBA Draft, when the Denver Nuggets selected Jokic with the 41st pick. The Serbian superstar revealed during an interview that he has never eaten at Taco Bell because of the commercial.

“I think I’ve never had Taco Bell just because of that.”

One would imagine a player like Nikola Jokic would avoid Taco Bell at all costs because of the negative impact it would have on his health and fitness. But instead, it is because of the grudge he has held against the chain. Jokic was just having fun in the interview, so he probably isn’t too concerned about the entire situation.

Jokic is without a doubt, the greatest second-round pick in NBA history. He has gone on to become one of the greatest players in the history of the league, and his career still has a long way to go. Jokic has won an NBA championship and Finals MVP, three regular-season MVPs, seven All-Star selections, and six All-NBA selections.

Jokic could win his fourth MVP this season, as he is once again putting up incredible numbers. Once again, the Serbian All-Star is averaging a triple-double with 29.4 points, 12.7 rebounds, 10.2 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game while shooting 57.4% from the field, 44.7% from beyond the arc, and 82.1% from the free-throw line.

The Nuggets are currently the third seed in the West with a 37-20 record. They were on a nine-game winning streak until Saturday night, when the Los Angeles Lakers came into the Ball Arena and snapped the Nuggets’ win streak in the NBA, and also handed the Nuggets their first regular season loss against the Lakers since 2023.

Jokic Skeptical Of Nuggets’ Quality

Speaking after the Nuggets’ 123-100 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, Nikola Jokic believes that the team was exposed, questioning the legitimacy of their nine-game winning streak prior to Saturday night. Jokic seems to think that the Nuggets are not as good as they may have convinced themselves and the rest of the league to be.

The Lakers played spectacular defense against Jokic, limiting the mercurial big man to just seven shots on the night. If this is a sign of things to come for the playoffs, the Lakers will be hoping to play against the Nuggets to avenge their past two playoff series.

Over the last two seasons, the Nuggets have an 8-1 record against the Lakers in the playoffs. The franchise will want to get a measure of revenge against the team that routinely humiliated them in the regular season and the playoffs.

As for the Nuggets, the loss against the Lakers should be a wake-up call for them. They need to address their offensive and defensive concerns. The Lakers proved that the Nuggets are over-reliant on Jokic, and if he is having a bad night, they capitulate. This cannot happen in the playoffs.
