The Golden State Warriors blew away the Sacramento Kings 132-106 at Golden 1 Center on Friday in their first game after the All-Star break. The Warriors seized control of this contest in the second quarter and then never looked back, to improve to 29-27 on the season.

Moses Moody led a balanced scoring effort by the Warriors with 22 points (8-11 FG), two rebounds, and four assists. Buddy Hield also had 22 points (8-11 FG) on the night while Brandin Podziemski put up 21 points (9-20 FG). As for the stars, Stephen Curry had 20 points (7-13 FG), one rebound, six assists, and two steals while Jimmy Butler recorded 17 points (5-10 FG), three rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

This was quite an impressive win for the Warriors and their fans were thrilled with the outcome.

“Haven’t seen this Warriors basketball for a while so much fun,” one fan hasn’t had this much fun watching his time in a while.

“Let’s go, 4-1 in the Butler era,” one fan is excited about the team being 4-1 with Butler.

“I like our chances in the postseason,” one fan is starting to be optimistic about the Warriors’ chances in the playoffs.

“What a game, Warriors are back. Now need to win over the Mavericks,” one believes the Warriors are well and truly back.

“Jimmy Butler saved my life,” one fan hailed Butler after this win.

Butler does appear to have changed life for the Warriors. Even though the 35-year-old’s numbers aren’t eye-popping, the team has been playing so much better with him.

Butler played some great defense against the Kings as the Warriors forced 24 turnovers on the night. They converted those into 38 points, which is ridiculous. When the Warriors weren’t killing the Kings’ defense on transition, they were slicing them apart with their beautiful ball movement.

The Warriors had 40 assists on 50 made shots and this was the brand of basketball that made them so difficult to play against in their glory days. Are those about to return now? Well, it’s too early to say but they’re looking good so far.

As the Kings, this defeat snapped a three-game win streak and dropped them to 28-28 on the season. DeMar DeRozan impressed with 34 points (10-14 FG), four rebounds, six assists, and one steal, but did not get much support from his teammates.

DeRozan was the only Kings player to score more than 15 points against the Warriors and you’re not going to win too many games when that happens. This loss also snapped the Kings’ five-game win streak against the Warriors and ensured they didn’t wrap up the season series here. These teams will face off for the fourth and final time this regular season on March 13.

There’s plenty of time for that, of course, and the Kings’ immediate focus would be on their next game against the Charlotte Hornets at Golden 1 Center on Monday at 10 PM ET. As for the Warriors, they take on the Dallas Mavericks at Chase Center on Sunday at 3:30 PM ET.
