Bronny James is in the middle of his very first road trip in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers and like most young men would in his position, is missing his partner. Bronny posted a story on his Instagram account on Monday, where he sent a cute message to his girlfriend Parker Whitfield.

“I miss my baby. Love you sm.”

This picture of James and Whitfield is from Disneyland Paris and it was in France that these two first sparked dating rumors. They attended some of Team USA’s games together along with Bryce James and his rumored girlfriend Sadie Johnson.

After Team USA’s triumph in the gold medal game, Whitfield and Johnson accompanied the James family to a private afterparty. They were seen holding hands with their rumored boyfriends as well.

James was later present at Whitfield’s 20th birthday party, which seemingly confirmed that these two are dating.

Then on Oct. 3, National Boyfriend Day, Whitfield made it official that they have been dating. She wrote, “Bf day! I love you! @bronny” on Instagram. It’s unclear when they got into a relationship, but it appears everything is going well as of now.

Bronny will be back home soon enough as well. This road trip for the Lakers began back on Oct. 28 against the Phoenix Suns and will end on Wednesday after their game against the Memphis Grizzlies, which will tip off at 8 PM ET.

Bronny, the 55th pick of the 2024 draft, scored his first points in the NBA during this road trip in a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He unsurprisingly hasn’t featured a lot for the Lakers, having been on the court for just over eight minutes this season, but would have learned a lot from being around the team.

Following this Lakers road trip, Bronny is expected to shuffle between the active roster and the franchise’s G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. I believe that’s the right move as well, as the 20-year-old, who is averaging 0.7 points, 0.3 rebounds, 0.7 assists, and 0.3 steals per game, certainly needs to spend some time developing his game in the G League.

Who Is Parker Whitfield?

Much like Bronny, Parker comes from a well-known family as well. Her mother is Salli Richardson, an actress and television director while her father Dondre is an actor. The two tied the knot back in 2002 and have a son named Dre as well.

Not much is known about Whitfield’s early life, but she chose to attend Sierra Canyon High School in California and that’s when she crossed paths with Bronny. He was on the school’s basketball team while she played softball.

While Bronny headed to USC after graduating from high school, Parker chose to go to Spelman College in Atlanta. The 20-year-old is currently in her sophomore year at the private, historically Black, women’s liberal arts college and appears to be doing exceptionally well in life.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
