Bronny James has gotten off to a great start with the Los Angeles Lakers. JJ Redick revealed while speaking to the press that the coaching staff were tracking all of the players’ performances during practice and that Bronny led the team in miles ran during practice, with six miles ran during the training session.

It is great to hear that Bronny James has started off strong with the Lakers, especially after the initial skepticism surrounding his drafting, and his position within the team. If Bronny continues to impress the Lakers coaching staff with his hard work and dedication, he could get more opportunities with the first team during the season.

Bronny James’ life in the NBA got off to a difficult start. Despite being selected in the second round with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, James was subjected to the media scrutiny of a lottery pick. And this led to a lot of people pushing narratives about him after a difficult start to the NBA Summer League.

James struggled in his first four games with the Lakers at the Summer League, going 0-22 from the three-point line, and shooting just 22.8% from the field. But in his final two games of the tournament, Bronny turned things around, averaging 12.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 blocks, and 0.5 steals.

Of course, Bronny James is by no means a finished product, and he will be spending a great deal of his time in the G-League.

Many expect him to return to the G-League after he played the opening game of the Lakers’ season so that he and his father can share the court together and make history as the first father-son duo to play in the NBA together on the same team.

LeBron James Coaches Bronny During Practice

Bronny James was spotted being coached by LeBron James during Lakers practice, with a clip surfacing of James telling Bronny where to stand during the shootaround and scrimmages. It was heartwarming to see the father-son duo interact with each other as teammates.

Anthony Davis spoke about Bronny being on the Lakers, as he noted that the entire squad wants to see the son dunk on the father during one of their practice sessions. It appears the rest of the team has welcomed and accepted him as a teammate and player on the roster.

Bronny is going to be spending most of his time with the South Bay Lakers so that he can continue to develop as a player. He has been gracious about playing in the G-League and understands that he isn’t quite ready to play in the NBA. So far, he has just shown gratitude for the chance to play in the NBA.

Of course, Bronny has been given the opportunity he has because of his father, but that doesn’t mean that he won’t eventually come good as a solid NBA player in the years to come. And the Lakers will be dedicating a lot of their resources to making sure that happens.
