As the Los Angeles Lakers try to overcome the Brooklyn Nets on what has been a tough night for them, tensions are starting to run high at the Barclays Center. Luka Doncic has already been letting his feelings be known, as he got into a brief war of words with a fan sitting courtside, who chose to trash-talk him after he fell to the floor during a drive to the basket.

Doncic seemed to be smirking as he spoke with the fan and ran up the court. This suggests that nothing said offended Doncic on a personal level; he was just engaging with some classic heckling from the Nets fan. Doncic enjoys engaging with fans, both positively and negatively, so it’s good to see him getting back to his ways as he continues to adjust to life as a Laker.

However, Doncic isn’t having the best night with the ball in his hand. So far, he has put up 17 points (6-22 FG), 10 rebounds, 11 assists, and two steals. Aside from his poor shooting, he has turned the ball over three times, two shy of the Brooklyn Nets’ team total of five turnovers. With the Lakers currently behind the Nets 79-81, he will need to turn his fortunes around very soon.

Doncic has been very strong for the Lakers during this latest stretch. But right now, they need him more than ever. The Lakers are missing 5 players tonight, with the most notable being LeBron James, who got injured against the Celtics. LeBron is set to miss at least two weeks, which means that the Lakers will rely on him and look to Luka Doncic for production on the offensive end during this time.
