Luka Doncic had an impressive performance to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 121-111 win against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night. Aside from the superstar’s MVP-caliber display, Doncic also showed some of his trademarked “Luka Magic” during the fourth quarter.
With just over three minutes on the clock in the final frame, the Lakers were ahead 112-101. Although the Lakers had built a sizable lead heading into the fourth, the Hornets mounted a strong push to cut the deficit.
At that point, the Lakers called a tactical timeout to reset. However, as the whistle blew, Luka Doncic launched a shot from beyond half court, scoring it without grazing the rim.

“He is a wizard of touch”, stated one user, impressed with Doncic’s mastery.
“Sum light,” noted another, acknowledging how the superstar didn’t even react to the make.

Luka Doncic Addresses The Lakers’ Adjustments Against Charlotte
After a relatively poor start to the game on Monday night, featuring a poor defensive display in the first half, the Lakers made some crucial adjustments to turn things around. While speaking with Spectrum SportsNet’s Mike Trudell, Luka Doncic highlighted how these adjustments made all the difference in securing the win over the Hornets.
“They came out with eight threes in the first quarter, which is insane,” said Doncic. “We had to get a little more physical, more aggressive, so they scored 23 in the second quarter. So when we came out in the third quarter, we knew we needed to get the job done. That’s what we did.”
The Hornets came away with 40 points in the first quarter, dominating both on the perimeter and inside the paint. Following the Lakers’ defensive adjustments in the second half, Charlotte only scored 15 points in the third quarter, highlighting what the Purple and Gold are capable of when they rally together.
On the offensive end, Luka Doncic led the charge, posting 38 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. He was closely supported by Austin Reaves (24 points, five rebounds, and seven assists), who was returning from injury, and Rui Hachimura (21 points and three rebounds).
The win helps the Lakers avoid a slump following the loss to the Hawks. With momentum on its side again, Los Angeles will look to build upon its current form as it heads into its next matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
