This summer has gone from bad to worse for Pelicans star Zion Williamson. Amid an ongoing scandal involving one of his former partners, the potential payout has reached astronomical heights. In the latest turn of events, one of Zion’s exes, adult actress Moriah Mills, has stepped forward as the accuser in the lawsuit that threatens to take a whopping $50 million from Williamson’s wallet.
“Everybody deserves a chance to be heard,” said Mills on X. “I hope that me and any other victims get justice and the amount of humiliation and threats I’ve been receiving have been a lot. It’s causing me a lot of stress, and emotional distress. I just hope we can all come to justice and this all can be resolved, and that nobody has to relive these things ever again.”
Williamson, 24, was a basketball phenom coming out of Duke, where he was projected to be the NBA’s next big superstar. Since being drafted first overall, however, Zion has been unable to meet expectations due to a string of injuries and ongoing issues with his weight, durability, and conditioning.
The Pelicans star has nothing to show for six years of experience in the NBA, and now his very character is in doubt after accusations of abuse in both the sexual and physical forms.
According to a lawsuit filed this week, Williamson is accused of threatening and abusing his former partner, and, according to her testimony, there are likely more victims out there who have yet to speak up.
Zion is actively fighting the lawsuit and the ongoing accusations against him, but this is not an isolated incident with Mills. In reality, the two have a long history that goes back for years. In 2023, she made her first public statement about Zion, where she said he was threatening her in a shocking reveal on Instagram.
She leaked several unflattering DMs between her and Williamson, only further putting the Pelicans star on blast. She also made things personal with the young baller, calling him “fat” and blaming a weed addiction for his inability to avoid injuries. She even threatened to leak sex tapes of her and Williamson.
All of these incidents stayed strictly online until just recently when Mills decided to pursue legal action. Rather than go for jail time for Zion, she’s going after his fortune and is now seeking to be reimbursed for her struggles with a $50 million paycheck.
Fortunately, Zion has more than enough money to spare. After signing a max contract worth up to $231 million in 2022, Zion has a net worth of $46 million, and he’s expected to earn much more before his career is said and done.
Of course, if there happen to be any other accusers, Williamson’s court fees could become quite expensive if they decide to join Mills’ lawsuit or seek out their own. Either way, it’s a tough situation for Zion given that he’s already facing massive pressure to perform.
With another distraction to take away from his focus, it’s going to be harder for Williamson to find success on the court and even harder for him to restore his reputation after such damaging accusations. The only way for him to find redemption now is by avoiding any more trouble as he takes the Pelicans to new heights in the West.
