Kevin Durant has found himself at the center of a growing trade frenzy, with multiple NBA teams aggressively pursuing the Phoenix Suns superstar ahead of the trade deadline. According to ESPN’s senior insider Shams Charania, several organizations have been making strong offers for Durant, sensing an opportunity to pry him away from Phoenix.

“From what I’m told, there are multiple teams making really aggressive calls to the Suns on Kevin Durant. Obviously, we know what has happened—he has made it clear that he did not want a reunion with the Warriors. The Warriors made a very strong pursuit of him over the last week, and several calls are continuing to pour in.”

“One thing I do want to clarify—Kevin Durant has not requested a trade, and it’s my understanding that most of these conversations this week have been somewhat blindsiding. Going into this week and this season, I don’t think a trade was something he was thinking about. He has wanted to stay in Phoenix.”

While Durant has not requested a trade, Charania notes that the ongoing conversations have taken him by surprise. The Golden State Warriors were one of the first teams to make a serious push for Durant, attempting to orchestrate a blockbuster three-team trade that would have sent Durant back to the Bay Area while Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler landed in Phoenix.

But, Durant shut down the idea of a reunion, making it clear that he had no interest in returning to Golden State. Once that deal fell apart, the Warriors quickly pivoted and pursued Butler instead, ultimately finalizing a deal to acquire him from the Heat.

Initially, the Suns were reluctant to take trade calls for Durant, viewing him as an essential part of their championship aspirations. But, as the deadline approached, their stance shifted, and they began fielding offers from teams eager to add one of the league’s greatest scorers.

The interest in Durant is understandable, given that he is still performing at an elite level. This season, he is averaging 26.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.2 assists while shooting 52.4% from the field and 41.1% from three-point range. Despite being 35 years old, Durant remains one of the most dominant offensive players in the league, capable of changing a franchise’s trajectory overnight.

The race for Durant is heating up, and with less than 90 minutes left before the trade deadline, the clock is ticking for teams looking to make a last-minute blockbuster move. While the Suns have not publicly committed to trading him, the increased volume of trade discussions suggests that Phoenix is at least open to the possibility. If a team comes forward with a package that meets their demands, Durant could be on the move for the second time in two years.

For now, all eyes are on Phoenix and Durant, as the final moments of the trade deadline unfold. Whether he stays or goes, his name will remain at the center of NBA discussions, as teams scramble to land one of the game’s most transcendent talents.
