After parting ways with Monty Williams this summer, the Phoenix Suns are actively looking for the next coach to lead their franchise. With Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, they need someone who can work well with big-name stars. And despite many names being tossed around as potential candidates, the Suns have already reached settled on four names.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Suns will interview Nick Nurse, Doc Rivers, Kings associate Jordi Fernandez, and Suns associate Kevin Young.

The Suns had big aspirations this season after acquiring Kevin Durant in a huge mid-season trade. For a while, the team was playing well with KD and went undefeated with him in the lineup. Sadly, it just wasn’t enough to beat a healthy Nuggets team.

Regarding who will be the one to land the job, that much is still unclear. But judging from the names listed above, the Suns want someone proven and experienced to spearhead the star-studded locker room.

Kevin Durant Is Excited For The Future

Despite the underwhelming finish, Kevin Durant can feel good about his decision to force his way to Phoenix. Not only can he play alongside Devin Booker, but he can also be part of the process of building the team from the ground up.

“Phoenix Suns players were briefed of Monty Williams firing right before it became official,” wrote Scoop B. “Belief in Suns locker room was that the roster was rough, but many are optimistic like Kevin Durant who I’m told is excited for team’s future loves it out there and excited to build there.”

At this point, people want results from Durant, and next season should give him another great chance to prove all the doubters wrong. But until he actually wins a title, there will always be doubts about his career.

Like it or not, the process starts now, and finding the right coach for the team will be essential to finding success.
