Orlando Magic Win No. 1 Pick In The 2022 NBA Draft, Oklahoma City Thunder Secure No. 2

2 Min Read

The NBA lottery is an event that determines who ends up with what pick among the teams that did not end up making the playoffs. Generally, a team’s pick can go up or down depending on how the lottery balls end up falling.

This year, it seems as though the Orlando Magic has gotten the No. 1 pick. There’s no doubt that this will be helpful in their rebuild. They have other solid young players as well, such as Wendell Carter Jr. and Franz Wagner. Any of the top-tier prospects would be a good addition to their roster.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are also winners today, as they secured the No. 2 pick, and they have another lottery pick as well. They will be able to add two elite prospects to their roster, which already has promising players such as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey.

The Sacramento Kings ended up jumping into the top four, and that could definitely benefit them in their chase to end their playoff drought. Adding a top-4 pick to a core that features De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis will definitely help with that.

It remains to be seen who each team will end up picking. But there’s no question that all of those teams could have their fortunes change if they make the right choice, and we’ll see which of those top-5 lottery teams ends up to returning to contention the soonest.
