P.J. Tucker Joins Miami Heat On Two-Year, $15 Million Contract

Hoops Habit

Fresh of winning his first-ever NBA title, P.J. Tucker was among the most sought-after names in free agency.

But after much talks, and hours of activity from around the NBA, his next destination was finally revealed.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Tucker will join the Heat on a shiny new multi-year deal.

While P.J. isn’t a star player y any stretch, he is a reliable and consistent guy who is capable of producing valuable minutes during the most important moments.

He was huge for the Bucks in 2021. Despite averages of just 3.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, he was the perfect complimentary piece next to Giannis. Losing him to the Heat is a pretty big blow to the defending Champs.

In Miami, he will thrive in a roster with Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Kyle Lowry. As a 3-and-D type, his value comes on both ends of the floor and will, no doubt, provide a major boost on the wing.

After yet another brilliant move by Pat Riley and the Heat organization, one has to wonder what else the franchise might have up their sleeve.
