Patrick Beverley is considered one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA today. Beverley is not a big player when it comes to size, but he more than makes up for that with his hustle and fight on the defensive end of the court.
Beverley has been described as a pest, someone who plays tough defense, but also tries irritating his opponents when they have the ball to force a turnover.
One of the biggest advantages that Beverley has is his fearlessness. Regardless of the opponent, Beverley never backs down from a challenge, and always believes he has a chance to come out on top.
Beverley has successfully guarded some of the NBA’s best players like LeBron James and Russell Westbrook in the past. And he believes that he can even go toe-to-toe with a former teammate of his.
The LA Clippers recently posted a picture of Kawhi Leonard working on his recovery to their Instagram page. Leonard, who has been out of action for almost a year now with an ACL tear, is still recovering and looking to return next season.
In the comments section of that post, Patrick Beverley, who played with Kawhi Leonard for 2 seasons in LA, noted that he would clamp down Kawhi if he played against him.

Perhaps it was just Beverley joking about his former teammate. Beverley did enjoy playing with Leonard for the two seasons that he did, and the two were a big reason why the Clippers were considered one of the best defensive teams in the NBA.
Beverley was traded during the offseason last year and landed in Minnesota at the start of the season. The Clippers deemed him surplus to requirements.
But Beverley would end up getting the last laugh, as he and the Timberwolves beat the LA Clippers in the play-in tournament to secure the 7th seed, and the Clippers would eventually miss out on the NBA playoffs entirely.
