Patrick Beverley and James Harden may or may not be teammates in the 2023-24 season, but the former believes Philadelphia will find a way to figure out things and move forward.

Responding to Dave Portnoy’s “RIP Sixers” tweet, the newly-minted Sixers guard had a blunt reply:

“Naw chill……….Philly thrives in Adversity”

In a way, Beverley’s approach just might be what the squad needs amid what has been a tumultuous time for the franchise. With the James Harden move taking a murky turn after his controversial comments about team president Daryl Morey, the mood and morale will surely take a hit.

But Beverley remains optimistic. The team will need to figure out a way to resolve the situation, even if it means letting Harden walk, and focus on winning an NBA championship.

The Sixers have been playoff contenders, but have failed to make deeper runs in the postseason, and that will be the focus ahead of the upcoming season, irrespective of how the Harden narrative pans out.

Can Patrick Beverley Help The Sixers Win A Championship?

Sometimes, a player impacts a team by being a sheer motivating locker room presence. Patrick Beverley is one such player whose leadership qualities make the team better. On his day, he scores and puts up some solid numbers, but the veteran has been known to be a massive influence on players on and off the court.

Numbers-wise, Beverley hasn’t seen big digits. This past season, he averaged 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists from 45 games with the Los Angeles Lakers. He was waived ahead of the trade deadline and signed with his hometown team, Chicago Bulls.

With the Bulls, he propped up 5.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. Now, these numbers might not be one that makes for MVP, but players around the league have known him to be a natural leader  — a trait that will greatly benefit the Sixers. Maybe, this might be the year.
