Guarding LeBron James is never easy. LeBron James gets to the rim pretty much at will, and his passing punishes double teams really well. James makes his teammates better, and his basketball IQ is his biggest asset when it comes to making things difficult for your opponent. One of the ways that you can help your teammates is by recognizing the opponent’s plays, and that is exactly what LeBron James does.
Chicago Bulls rookie Patrick Williams is a promising 3 and D wing player with shot creation potential. He spoke about how during their recent matchup, LeBron James flashed his basketball IQ and called out plays before they even happened.
Patrick Williams says LeBron James was calling out some of the #Bulls' plays ahead of time.
"You can tell he watches a lot of film," Williams says.

It would make sense that LeBron James watches a lot of basketball film. All the great players continuously try to find ways to improve, and watching film can be good for analyzing an opposing team. You want to know all the opposing team’s strengths and weaknesses, and LeBron James can quickly identify exploitable holes in the opposing team’s game due to his basketball IQ. It is only natural that he comes to every matchup prepared.
LeBron James will forever be known as one of the greatest minds in basketball. As his athleticism will wane as he ages, James will have to keep adapting to the league. Luckily for him, he is one of the smartest players in the NBA. LeBron James will continue to be good in the league well into his late years simply due to his ability to make the right plays.
