21-year-old Luka Doncic is already considered one of the NBA’s top players. With just two seasons of experience in the league, nobody was expecting him to be so good so early. Yet, here he is, averaging 28.5 points as the leader and face of the Mavericks.
Amid all the Luka hype, ESPN analyst, and basketball legend, Paul Pierce became the latest to dish him some praise, insisting that Doncic is the most skilled player in basketball.
"He’s probably the most skilled player in the NBA."

On one hand, Luka has got a lot in his bag. From ball handling to shooting to driving, there is no shortage of ways we have seen him get buckets over his opponent.
On the other hand, there are some areas that Doncic can get better in, most notably on the defensive end. He, and his team, are one of the worst in the league in that category.
With the Mavs currently sitting in the bottom half of the standings, it seems Doncic will have to continue taking leaps in order for his team to have any chance at the title in 2021.
The hope is that, with time, Luka can step up and carry the team on his back to the playoffs. But we’ll see what he’s able to do over the next few weeks, and if Pierce’s declaration continues to hold up.
