Zion Williamson has only played two seasons in the NBA, but rumors have already surfaced about his potential departure from the New Orleans Pelicans.
For any big star who plays in a small market, it always seems more likely that they end up leaving their original team to chase a more lucrative situation somewhere else. The same can be said for Zion, who hasn’t been particularly successful in New Orleans so far.
Interestingly, over the past few years, we’ve actually seen a number of big-name players challenge that narrative, including Damian Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and even Bradley Beal.
Could Zion be the next to prove everyone wrong?
According to his newest teammate, Tomas Satoransky, Williamson won’t be going anywhere, and all the claims about his future departure are nothing more than the media stirring up drama.

Needless to say, there are many who feel the same way.
It’s common that we see fans and media members look for signs of distress from stars who may not have the best track record of winning. In Zion’s case, the narrative has begun even before the end of his Rookie contract.
Love it or hate it, that’s just the way it is.
But, at the end of the day, only the stars themselves can decide where they want to be. And while Zion may not have much of a choice right now, it won’t be too long from now that he’ll have the chance to check out other opportunities.
