Damian Lillard’s future with the Portland Trail Blazers is one of the hottest topics of discussion among NBA fans and the media. Lillard is usually regarded as one of the most loyal players in the league. After all, Dame has been with the Portland Trail Blazers since being drafted by the franchise.
But he hasn’t really been able to win anything by staying loyal to the organization. Sure, he has become the all-time scoring leader of the Trail Blazers, but when it comes to winning any NBA Championships, Lillard is yet to achieve that.
Moreover, the way that the Portland Trail Blazers’ current roster is constructed, there is little to no chance that Lillard will win an NBA title by staying with them.
Paul Pierce On Damian Lillard’s Future
Former NBA champion and Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce recently made an appearance on Kevin Garnett’s podcast. During the episode, Pierce discussed a plethora of things about Damian Lillard.
He even pointed out that Dame has reached the breaking point of his time with the Trail Blazers and should leave the team just like Garnett did with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Keeping that in mind, when asked about a realistic destination for Lillard, Pierce named the Philadelphia 76ers as the team that he should join if he decides to leave the Trail Blazers.

“I think Philly is realistic. You throw in some draft picks, if they got some. You throw in some young talent like Maxey and Tobias Harris, to get the salaries.”
Pierce further explained that Lillard joining the 76ers will not only take pressure off of Joel Embiid but also James Harden. To be honest, a Big 3 of Lillard, Harden, and Embiid seems too good to be true.
But if the 76ers can pull off this trade, it will make them one of the favorites to win the 2023 NBA Championships. Additionally, they can aim to win a couple of more rings in the near future.
