Utah Jazz’s star Lauri Markkanen just finished a terrific season for him, becoming one of the best and most refreshing stories in the league this campaign.

After taking the league by storm and becoming an All-Star for the first time in his career, he’s taking on a new responsibility in his country. The Finnish player is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service.

A series of pics show the player starting his journey in the army, looking very serious about it.

This was announced a couple of weeks ago, which sparked many reactions from fans. Kyle Kuzma even made a joke about it, and many didn’t like what he said, but Lauri never complained about it.

He’s ready to take on this challenge and serve his country, even if it is for one summer. Hopefully, this experience can help him in life and in his NBA career, especially now that he’s expected to be one of the Jazz’s leaders.

Lauri Markkanen Is A Finalist For The Most Improved Player Award

The 2022-23 NBA season was magical for Markkanen, who instantly made an impact on the Utah Jazz, even taking them to the No. 1 spot in the Western Conference standings at one point.

To top it off, he was named a finalist for the Most Improved Player award, competing against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Brunson for this prize. He also became one of the best power forwards in the league and a talent that the Jazz fans are enjoying after bad stints with the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers, respectively.

This was a big campaign for Lauri, and he’s looking for more. The Jazz have a bright future ahead, and Markkanen can be the leader of this pack. If they build a competitive team, the West could be in trouble soon. This player is only 25 and one of the most promising NBA young stars.
