Rockets GM Daryl Morey Says James Harden Is An “All-Time” Great

2 Min Read

The Houston Rockets have all the makings of a true Championship contender. With James Harden, Russell Westbrook, and a system that suits their talents, they are (undoubtedly) one of the West’s most elite teams.

But they have yet to meet expectations. Amongst questions and doubts regarding their potential, Daryl Morey took some time to chat about his team and his team’s best player in a talk with the media on Thursday.

Morey insists that his team is shooting for nothing less than a title. And, judging by Morey’s recent moves, it’s clear he’s willing to do whatever it takes. He traded Chris Paul for Westbrook this past summer and traded the team’s starting center at the deadline to go all-in on their small-ball strategy.

As for Harden, while he is one of basketball’s All-Time best scorers, he was struggling mightily before the NBA’s hiatus with inconsistency and poor shooting percentages. If Houston wants any hope of winning a title, they’ll need Harden to return to his form.

As things stand now, the Rockets are 6th in the West with a 40-24 record. They’ve got a long way to go, but there’s no reason to count them out just yet. So long as Daryl Morey is running the show, they will always be a threat.
