Russell Westbrook faced former teammate Kevin Durant on Sunday night when his Washington Wizards visited the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center. It was a very close and hard-fought game that was decided in the last seconds. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant had the chance to call it a game and they missed, losing their fourth game of the season.
After the game, everybody wanted to know Russell Westbrook’s thoughts on that situation but Brodie, true to his style, didn’t say much about it. He kept it short, celebrating the victory regardless of how things ended for the Wizards and Nets. Asked about his reaction to seeing KD and Kyrie missing, Westbrook said:
“I have no reaction. They missed. We win. Game over.”

Moreover, he talked about the win, correcting one reporter that asked him about his first win with the Wizards. Westbrook wasn’t having any of that and he made it clear that even when he’s not playing, he’s winning, too.
“This is my second win, man. If I don’t play, I’m still a part of the team,” Westbrook replied.

Russ is focused on the job and to turn things around with the Wizards. They beat a big team on Sunday and that can be an inspiration to face the rest of the season, where they’ll try to compete in a very talented Eastern Conference.
