Scottie Pippen has been saying all kinds of controversial things lately, and he recently also picked his Mt. Rushmore of all-time NBA players.

After saying Michael Jordan was ‘horrible to play with,’ Scottie Pippen included the GOAT on his Mt. Rushmore, even adding an extra spot and naming five players.

On the Stacey King’s Gimme The Hot Sauce podcast, Scottie was asked to name his Mt. Rushmore excluding himself. He said, “Wow, the greatest will have to be… Man, that’s always a tough question because my list may be different and I don’t look at players as stats so…

“I like Kareem. I think Kareem is one of the most remarkable and unstoppable players. I like Magic’s game. I think Magic was awesome. I would put Michael up there. And I’d probably put Karl Malone. But ayy, I got some buckets there… I’d take myself out, I’d put LeBron up there. So it would be LeBron, Magic, Michael, Kareem, and Karl Malone.”

The Mt. Rushmore question means that the person has to choose just four players, but it seems that Pippen couldn’t limit his choices to just four. The five players he picked are all legends of the game, and it can’t be disputed, although not many would have Karl Malone up there. And what makes the picks even more interesting is his recent comments about Michael Jordan.

Scottie Pippen Chose Michael Jordan For His Mt. Rushmore Despite Calling Him Horrible

Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan are not on the best terms, this has become very evident in recent times. However, many people had perhaps not realized how intense the rivalry between the two still is. Speaking on the same podcast, Pippen had called Jordan a horrible player

“LeBron James will be the greatest statistical guy to ever play the game of basketball. There’s no comparison to him… I’ve seen Michael Jordan play before I came to play with the Bulls… [Michael Jordan] was a horrible player. He was horrible to play with. He was all 1 on 1, he was shooting bad shots.”

If this is actually what he believes, one has to wonder why Pippen would put Michael Jordan on that exclusive list. The Chicago Bulls dynasty was arguably the greatest the NBA has ever seen, and it’s a real shame that everything has turned out so weird and toxic between the two players that were at the center of it all.
