During his playing days, there was hardly anyone more dominant than the Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal. So much so that at the prime of his career, it was close to impossible to stop him in his tracks when he used to march toward the basket.

Apart from being a Lakers legend, after his career was over, O’Neal also became a pretty successful businessman. He has invested in a lot of businesses over the years and increased his net worth multiple times. But if there was one thing that Shaquille O’Neal is not good at, it is maintaining relationships and marriage.

In fact, in light of Ime Udoka’s scandal, Shaq revealed that he was a serial cheater and hence kept quiet about the matter.

Shaquille O’Neal Admitted He Was Never Meant To Have A Serious Relationship

Being one of the biggest superstars in the history of the NBA, Shaquille O’Neal played for great teams during his career. Moreover, he spent the prime of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers and was close to Hollywood. This led to Shaq truly embracing the party lifestyle and never truly settling in, despite having six kids.

But what was the reason behind that? Well, the NBA legend once blamed all of it on spending his life in cities like Los Angeles and Miami.

I wasn’t programmed to have a relationship and then when you move to L.A.? Times ten. And when you go to L.A., back to Miami? Times twenty. Everything that was done. Everything that was bad, that happened it was all because of me.”

In a similar video, Shaq also talked about the important women in his life. He talked about his ex-girlfriend Arnetta Yardbourgh and his ex-wife Shaunie Nelson.

Arnetta was one that I’ve always had a crush on in high school but never talked to her. Finally, when I’m about to get drafted, now, I’m confident. I got some money. I got the chains. I get to talk to her. We started dating. We love each other. She gives me my first bundle of joy, Taahirah. Now, after all of this, I’m still doing dumb stuff. Then I meet the other greatest person of my life, Shaunie. I knew she was gonna be my wife. And I knew she was gonna have all of my other children. But just being a dumba*s, rich, spoiled man. Of course, I messed it up.”

The lesson from Shaq’s experience with women is the fact that he should have treated them better. But instead of doing so, he focused on temporary things and messed up two great relationships in his life.
