Shaquille O’Neal Buys Stunning $1.22 Million Home In Dallas, Texas

Shaquille O’Neal is a very intelligent man in terms of how he spends his money. O’Neal is known to be extremely charitable and has stories where he reportedly tallied the biggest purchase in Walmart history after he decided to furnish his house one night from the department store.

That house was in Phoenix after he was traded by the Miami Heat and was relatively modest as it was going to be a temporary residence for Shaq. He always owned a mansion in Orlando that he bought while playing there. He has lived there for years but reportedly sold it for $11 million last year.

Shaq has made a major addition to his real estate by buying a European-inspired manor that is 53,000 square feet in Carrolton, Texas, a city in Dallas county. The house has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a pair of powder rooms. The final sale price of the house hasn’t been recalled, but it was last listed at $1.224 million.

Shaq has just purchased a mansion in suburban Dallas last listed at $1.22 million.

The mansion is absolutely royal and is a part of Shaq’s attempts to expand his business ventures in Texas. This purchase was motivated by his Big Chicken restaurant expanding to the state.

O’Neal sold his 31,000-square-foot Windermere Florida home last October for $11 million. He currently has a modest home in the Ladera Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles and a 14.3 acre two-resident compound 30 miles from Atlanta. (h/t Architectural Digest)

Spanning over 5,200 square feet, features include a library with a dramatic tiered ceiling, a wall of built-in shelves, and a wood-burning fireplace. The kitchen and breakfast room opens out to the great room that offers soaring ceilings, a gas fireplace and a wall of windows overlooking the pool. The primary suite features a sitting area with a spa-like bathroom, according the listing. (h/t NY Post.)

Shaq intends to make this a part-time home for when he is doing business. Well, that is one way of doing business in style.

His Big Chicken brand has been opening stores rapidly across the country. His Texas venture will see him open 56 restaurants in the area. This will be a boost to the local economy as Shaq will employ people from the area while also allowing Shaq to establish his business in one of the biggest states in the country. Owning a million-dollar mansion in the area is just him showing his commitment to build this brand in Texas.
