• Shaquille O’Neal just made a hilarious cameo in a Los Angeles Port police recruitment video

• Shaq plays his role as a cop to convince a suspect to hand himself to the police

• The four-time champion encourages people to sign up for the port police in this viral video

Shaquille O’Neal has made an appearance in a hilarious recruitment video for the Los Angeles Port Police. The Hall of Famer has always been passionate about police work and makes a hilarious cameo with an encouraging speech on getting people to sign up for the Port Police.

The video starts with police officers surrounding a suspect at the port. After the suspect mocks four officers who are pointing their guns at him by saying, ‘Is that all you got?’, Shaq comes to the rescue. The officers radio in for Shaq by dropping his nicknames such as ‘The Big Aristotle’ and ‘Diesel’, who appears and makes the suspect turns himself in out of fear.

“The team is more important than any one of us. If you have what it takes to join the Los Angeles Port Police, then come on down. It’s time to dive in.”

Shaq using his time for good causes like this is fantastic to see. We all know how commercially viable he is and any brand that would’ve wanted him to do something like this would have had to fork out big money to make this happen.

Given Shaq’s passion for police work and this video encouraging young people to sign up for the port police, it’s fair to assume this was out of goodwill instead of a financial arrangement.

Shaquille O’Neal Would’ve Been A Police Officer If He Failed At Basketball

Shaquille O’Neal is rooted in the principles his stepfather, Phillip Harrison, taught him while raising him. O’Neal has repeatedly credited Harrison for making him the player he is. Harrison was pragmatic and knew that Shaq’s career could be over in ways beyond his control and advised his stepson to have a backup plan, which was joining law enforcement

“One of the things Sarge always told me was, ‘What if you break your knee? What if you can’t play anymore? You better have a backup plan.’ Rather than just be Shaq, basketball hero, the star of a couple of terrible movies, and best-selling rap artist, I needed to gain some credibility in law enforcement.”

O’Neal ultimately ended up registering as an officer after his playing days were over. Even if he never had to actively serve police duty, he keeps giving back in the ways that he can given his admiration for the work they do.

Shaquille O’Neal Puts Principles Before Money

Many multi-millionaires do charity work, but very few do it as much as Shaq and as selflessly as he. Everyone knows that Shaq is very giving with his money, donating gifts to childrendonating money from the shows he does, and handing out money to people he meets in stores who need something. These are just the tip of the iceberg.

After realizing his basketball shoes with Reebok weren’t affordable, he turned down $40 million to create his own brand with shoes that weren’t as expensive as the ones Nike, Jordan, and Adidas made. He made sure kids could have easy access to a superstar’s shoes instead of having to fork out hundreds of dollars for expensive brands.

It isn’t wrong to be rich and successful like Shaq, but he’s made it a point to give what he earns back to the community. He is a very celebrated businessman and pop culture figure, but what really makes him so loved around the world is his giving nature.
