One of the defining moments of the 2019-20 season was an interesting exchange between Giannis Antetokounmpo and his rival at the time, the Los Angeles Lakers.
After making his fifth three-pointer, the Greek Freak put the world, and his opponents, on notice, crowning himself the “King” of the NBA in front of LeBron James.

It was a pretty wild moment, but nobody really thought it was going to be something that lingered for very long.
Interestingly enough, and unfortunately for Giannis, it would be something that James would take personally.
Since that signature move by the Freak, James has made it a point to go off against him, averaging 35.5 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds per game on 54.3% shooting.

He has also won a Championship — only further solidifying the fact that he still sits on the throne as the NBA’s best player.
Honestly, what LeBron has been able to do at 36-years-old, and in his 18th season, is nothing short of extraordinary. This season alone, he’s averaging 23.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game.
So, make no mistake about it: “King” James is still right where he’s been for over a decade now, and he’s not afraid to show it.
