In a new edition of the Ben Simmons saga, it now seems like the Philadelphia 76ers and his agent Rich Paul are ready to make amends and figure something out.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania, the hope is that the former first-overall pick gives up on his trade demands and comes back to the team:

“Sixers officials and Klutch CEO Rich Paul have progressed in talks over recent days on a resolution to bring All-Star Ben Simmons back to Philadelphia in the near future, sources tell ESPN. Discussions are ongoing.

The plan remains for the Sixers to continue canvassing the league for trades, but the possibility of Simmons reporting to the team has increased in recent days, sources tell ESPN.

The organization’s hopes are unchanged: Get Simmons back into Philadelphia, onto the court and ultimately convince him that it’s still the place for the long-term,” tweeted Woj.

“The Philadelphia 76ers and Ben Simmons’ agent, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, have been working around the clock over the last few days on a resolution to have the three-time All-Star return to market, sources tell The Athletic & Stadium,” added Shams.

This comes as somewhat shocking news, as Simmons had already emptied his house in Philadelphia and listed both of his properties for sale:

“Sources tell me that Simmons has emptied his home in Philadelphia and has had his belongings all packed and moved out, and the place will soon go up for sale,” Shams reported a couple of days ago.

Also, it doesn’t seem like Sixers fans are just going to forget this saga any time soon. They will for sure give him a hard time even if he decides to come back.

Hopefully, things will work out perfectly for him and the organization that trusted and invested so much in him.
