Skip Bayless Reveals That Kahwi Leonard Will Not Return To The LA Clippers In 2021

Kawhi Leonard’s absence is felt in LA despite the Clippers actually being in good form right now. Paul George is continuing to prove the doubters wrong, as he has helped the Clippers get off to a great start even without Leonard, who is currently out after tearing his ACL during the 2021 Playoffs.

And now, Skip Bayless has provided a medical update on Kawhi Leonard, that most Clippers fans knew, but probably didn’t want to hear.

During yesterday’s episode of Undisputed, Skip Bayless revealed that Leonard will not return to the Clippers at least till the end of the year. This is mostly a precautionary measure. He explained this while also taking some casual shots at his co-host Shannon Sharpe, LeBron James, and the Los Angeles Lakers, as he normally does.

“Just a quick note, a little breaking news here. I was informed just yesterday that Kawhi Leonard will not be back this year. There was supposed to be a real good shot. But it was the Clippers’ choice. They just said ‘let’s shut it down for the rest of the year’. So you don’t have to worry about Kawhi. As bad as the Lakers are, they still got a shot, because they don’t have to deal with the Clippers. So congratulations, you just cleared the decks here in LA. It’s yours to lose for one more year. Kawhi will be back next October for another run at a championship.”

Most fans had assumed that the Leonard won’t return anytime this year. But this update doesn’t mean that Leonard won’t be back in time for the playoffs. The Clippers are hoping to rest Leonard as much as possible, and they think that he can make a comeback this season, potentially in time for the NBA playoffs.

Leonard is pivotal to the Clippers’ championship aspirations. He and Paul George, when both healthy, are considered one of the best duos in the NBA. And many feel that they can be the pair to bring a championship to the Clippers. But for now, Clippers fans will be happy just to see a healthy Kawhi return to the squad.
