The Brooklyn Nets aren’t in a good position right now after losing the first two games of their first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. They’re not looking like a championship team, but the Nets aren’t losing hope that they can at least beat the Sixers.

Spencer Dinwiddie has been very vocal about it and recently mentioned his former team Dallas Mavericks to explain what the Nets would do to the Sixers.

“Yeah, of course,” Dinwiddie said. “We ended up whooping Phoenix’s ass. That’s the plan, win.”

This is a very encouraging message from Dinwiddie, but he’s in a different position now. Last year, he was accompanied by Luka Doncic, but this one, the Nets aren’t at the same level as those Mavs, and they don’t have a superstar like the Slovenian guard.

Still, the player plans to give his everything and try to get the first dub of the series when the duel moves to Barclays Center. There has been some back-and-forth between these teams, with Jacque Vaughn even criticizing referees for favoring Joel Embiid

Now, the Nets face a big challenge, and they know they have to give their everything. Dinwiddie claims that he’s trying to do better and is set to keep helping teammates in the quest for a win during this series.

“I mean, I’m doing a lot of kicking it ahead right now, getting guys on the run and things like that. And obviously it’s a balance,” Dinwiddie said, via FanNation. “I’ve probably got to figure out how to be a little bit more aggressive getting in the paint. So sometimes keeping it probably.

“But just got to look at film and figure it out. Overall though, obviously our emphasis has been on pace and kicking the ball ahead, so, you know, I think I’ve done probably Part 1 pretty well and need to do better on Part 2.”

This series doesn’t look as competitive as it did before it started. The Sixers looked comfortable against the Nets, and Dinwiddie couldn’t do much damage. As things stand right now, it’s a matter of time before Philadelphia finishes the job and advances to the second round of the postseason.
