Draymond Green Will Leave The Warriors Unless They Win Or Reach The NBA Finals

Chris Broussard claims Draymond Green will stop being a part of the Golden State Warriors unless they make another deep playoffs run.

Draymond Green’s future with the Golden State Warriors was involved in many rumors since the last offseason. His age, added to his altercation with Jordan Poole, started brewing rumors that the Golden State Warriors would end up moving on from him.

Now, the Golden State Warriors are in a complex position in the 2023 NBA Playoffs, and perhaps an early exit would mean the end of Draymond’s tenure with the Dubs.

“Unless they [the Warriors] get to the Finals or win the Finals, he [Draymond Green] is gone. And you can make a strong argument that even if they won the championship if he opted out, they can decide to move on. We’ve seen that happen before. Draymond has to really look at whether or not he should opt out, because remember he has control of it. He doesn’t have to opt out,” Chris Broussard recently said on First Thing First.

Broussard adds that Draymond could draw a lot of attention from several teams around the league, but so many others wouldn’t want to deal with him.

“He could get move, and a lot of teams would want him because he’s a champion, and they might be close [to winning the title] and need what he brings, but there’ll be a lot of teams that don’t want him.”

Draymond has always been a controversial figure, and the Golden State Warriors have learned how to manage that over the years. Steve Kerr recently defended him after being suspended for Game 3 of the Kings series, and it’s unlikely that other teams will back him up the same way.

Draymond Could Be Living His Final Days As A Warrior

Still, some people think this era is coming to an end, and Draymond could be on his way out of the Warriors. One analyst believes that he’ll play his final game with the Dubs in the next 10 or 12 days, setting the alarms on at Chase Center.

Green has been crucial to the Warriors’ success, but everything in life has come to an end, even if it’s painful. We still have to wait to see how the Warriors-Kings series unfolds and if Draymond remains on the team after this season.
