There is no doubt that the 1990s decade was a good one for New York Knicks basketball. The team had a superstar center in Patrick Ewing and even made the NBA Finals in 1994 and 1999.

Film director Spike Lee is well-known for being a New York Knicks fan, and he is often seen at games and big events for the team. Recently, he revealed that he will be directing a documentary on the 1990s New York Knicks, admitting that this isn’t “just a rumor”.

And for Knicks fans:

Spike Lee confirmed to me he’s working on a film series based on “Blood in the Garden,” a book about the 90s Knicks.

And for Knicks fans: Spike Lee confirmed to me he’s working on a film series based on “Blood in the Garden,” a book about the 90s Knicks. “It’s not a rumor.”

Hopefully, this series ends up being an entertaining one. Spike Lee has a lot of fantastic works under his belt such as “Do The Right Thing”, and perhaps this will be another addition to his fantastic film-making resume.

There have been a number of great basketball documentaries released over the last few years, with the most notable one being “The Last Dance”, which told the story of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. The New York Knicks that Spike Lee’s documentary series will discuss often ran into those Chicago Bulls, and there’s no doubt that Michael Jordan prevented a lot of players from winning championships.

Patrick Ewing is one of the best centers of all time, and it’ll be interesting to see how he ends up being portrayed in the series. Sports documentary films often include interviews with members of the team, and perhaps fans will get a new experience featuring Patrick Ewing’s perspective on that specific era of New York Knicks basketball.

As of right now, there has been no release date or any further information about the direction the documentary series is going to take. We’ll see if there’ll be any other information revealed about this series in the next few days.
