  • Lonzo Ball called out Stephen A. Smith after he reported that Ball had trouble standing up
  • Smith aggressively fired back at Ball for calling him out
  • Smith then doubled down by stating he knows the doctors who operated on Ball

Stephen A. Smith has received backlash following his latest comments amid his beef with Lonzo Ball. Smith once again reacted to the situation during the latest episode of Stephen A’s World, where he made some rather interesting claims.

“You gonna call me yapping when I have all of this information in front of me,” Smith said. “Would you like me to tell where you had surgery, and exactly what date you had surgery on? Would you like me to get the names of the doctors? I do have them. I know the actual doctors that operated on you. The actual locations… If I said it, somebody close to you told me.”

NBA fans were not happy with Smith upon hearing this.

One thinks Smith has committed HIPAA violations here.

A fan blasted Smith for changing the narrative.

One says Lonzo’s lawyers might go to court over this.

A fan thinks comments like these will lead to Smith’s downfall.

Smith should not be allowed to freely express his opinions like this, a fan thinks.

It is important to note here, that Smith isn’t claiming that Lonzo’s doctors told him this. If he did, then that would be a violation of HIPAA and could land him and the doctors in trouble.

From what I gather, he is saying he knows who operated on the 25-year-old and that someone in Ball’s inner circle gave him the information, that has caused this whole situation.

It started when Lonzo called out Smith for spreading a false report claiming he could barely stand up.

In response, Smith aggressively clapped back at Ball for calling him out, by stating he just can’t play at the moment. He brought up the fact that Ball didn’t play this past season and missed 47 games the season before that.

Stephen A. Smith Is Dodging The Issue Here

Smith has really dodged the actual point raised by the Chicago Bulls guard. He was only responding to the report that stated it was hard for him to stand up from a sitting position. He never claimed he is ready to play and, in fact, Lonzo confirmed he will miss the whole 2023-24 season after his knee surgery.

This whole saga has just been a terrible look for Smith overall. It is bad enough when he reports something that turns out to be incorrect, but to then not just admit it was a mistake is not great on his part.

It will be interesting to see if Lonzo responds to this in any way, and you certainly wouldn’t blame him if he strongly fired back.
