Stephen Curry Explains How Kobe Bryant Inspired Him To Be In The NBA

1 Min Read

We haven’t seen much of Steph Curry this season. After injuring his hand early in the season, he has remained in the shadows as he works on his game and his inevitable return to the court in October.

But speaking up on ESPN, Curry spoke (for the first time) to the public on the heartbreaking death of Kobe Bryant — a star he looked up to coming into the league.

Curry’s feelings towards the Mamba should come as no surprise to anyone. He has long expressed profound respect to the Laker legend and even had the pleasure of battling him on the court a few times.

The statement came during a Warriors vs Lakers game in San Francisco on Saturday, which started with a video tribute commemorating the basketball phenom.

It’s been weeks now since Bryant’s death, but it’s still a very real and present tragedy for many in the community, including 2x MVP Stephen Curry.
