Stephen Curry Received His Diploma From Davidson Today

3 Min Read

A couple of months after winning his 4th NBA championship, Stephen Curry has reached another milestone today, becoming a graduate from Davidson College 13 years after leaving the institution to chase his biggest dream: being an NBA player. Steph did so in a great way, becoming arguably a top 10 player of all time, leading his Golden State Warriors to four championships in seven trips to the Finals.

He had some unfinished business in Davidson, as they decided to retire his jersey from the basketball team. However, he needed to graduate from college before being eligible for such a great honor. Well, it took a while for Curry, but he finally did it.

After 13 years of absence, Curry re-enrolled for the spring 2022 semester, putting in the work to complete his coursework. He received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in sociology. Unfortunately, he couldn’t attend the original event with the rest of the students, but today, Curry received this honor in a one-man ceremony to get his diploma.

Davidson president Doug Hicks had some words to say about the Warriors superstar, showering him in praise after doing his famous ‘night night’ celebration.

“Every president at every commencement makes hopeful statements about graduates’ futures. In that spirit, I hereby predict, with confidence, Stephen Curry, that you will enjoy considerable success in your life and career after college.”

Stephen Curry is not only a great basketball player but one of the coolest people out there. Yes, he’s the self-proclaimed petty King, but he wouldn’t be where he is today if it wasn’t for that mindset. Time really flies and just 13 years ago, he was heading into the NBA draft.

It took a little for him to make his mark on the league, but once he took off, there was no stopping. He’s now a 4x NBA champion, 2x NBA MVP, 1x Finals MVP, the best shooter of all time, and one of the greatest point guards ever. Added to that, he’s now a college graduate, and those who love and respect him are happy to see all the things he keeps accomplishing.

Next season, the Golden State Warriors will have a hard job trying to defend their championship, but Curry is ready to bully them again and show that the Warriors dynasty is far from over. He stays hungry and after winning another championship, Steph will be ready to add more to his collection.
