Stephen Curry and LeBron James closed another chapter of their rivalry on Friday night, as the Los Angeles Lakers took care of the Golden State Warriors and sent them back home, ending their season.

After everything was over, all the superstars reflected on these matchups. Stephen Curry opened up not only on this year’s series but all the battles he’s had with LeBron over the years (3:32 mark).

“I mean, it’s just a battle every time,” Curry said. “And I know there are a lot of different narratives within each of the series that we’ve had and different teams and teammates and all the above. But it’s just great basketball, great competition. Understanding who LeBron is and who he’s been his entire career and the accolades and the championships he’s won and the records that he has. Like, he’s an amazing basketball player. And he brings the best out of you and you know you have to be your best if you’re gonna try and beat him. And I think he feels vice versa.

“And so you love those experiences. Somebody’s gotta win and it’s part of the nature of what we’re dealing with. But there’s so much respect. And again, appreciation for the battles and experiences and the back and forths cuz it’s basketball at the highest level and that’s all you can ask for.”

Over the years, these two have gone at it, trying to win as many championships as possible, engaging in big battles, and never backing down against the challenge. That’s why they’re considered the GOATs of this generation.

This time, however, James is the one continuing his journey while Stephen Curry and the Warriors will have an entertaining offseason.

Stephen Curry And The Warriors Are Ready To Run It Back

Following this elimination, many questions rose for the Warriors regarding their future. Some think Draymond’s time with the team is over and he needs to look for a different squad.

As for the rest, many think they need to part ways with several players, including Jordan Poole. The young guard was a shell of himself this postseason, hurting the Warriors’ chances to win it all again.

Klay Thompson is reportedly expected to get a pay cut this summer, but Klay has made it clear he deserves a bag one more time. This can be a tricky situation for the Dubs, who are ready to bounce back next season regardless of who remains on the roster.
