Stephen Curry shared a great video on Instagram highlighting the 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony. Curry shared videos and pictures featuring several athletes representing the USA, including basketball stars LeBron James, Kelsey Plum, Sabrina Ionescu, Breanna Stewart, Coco Gauff, golfer Collin Morikawa, and more.

Curry was clearly excited and thrilled to be part of the festivities for the first time in his career. Despite being one of the NBA’s best and brightest stars for over a decade, Curry hasn’t gotten the opportunity to represent Team USA at the Olympics until now. And he was taking all of it in at the event.

Steph looked like he was having a great time, even playing jokes on some of his teammates. He hilariously instigated Anthony Edwards into challenging the women’s table tennis team during their journey to the opening ceremony.

Curry’s time with Team USA also gives us the opportunity to see him play competitive basketball with LeBron James for the first time in history. While the two have played together in All-Star games, this is the first time we get to see how incredible a duo they form in competitive basketball.

Curry and LeBron clearly have enjoyed playing with each other, with Steph remarking that playing with the King has been exactly how he imagined it. After years of sharing the court as rivals, the two icons get to join forces as teammates.

The two along with Kevin Durant even recreated the iconic picture that Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird took ahead of the 1992 Olympics on the Dream Team.

Stephen Curry Continues To Be A Leader For Team USA

Stephen Curry had a solid opening game for Team USA, as they demolished Serbia 110-84. Curry put up 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists in the win, including 3 three-pointers. He went 4-8 from the field, and 3-7 from the three-point line. Curry’s role on the team is smaller compared to Golden State, but he is still thriving nonetheless.

Curry, James, and Durant are expected to be the leaders for Team USA in this Olympic run. The trio are the oldest players on the roster but are the most experienced, and one can make the argument that all three players are still the best on the squad despite their age.

Team USA is looking to win their fifth consecutive gold medal at the Olympics this year, having won continuously since 2008. For Curry, a gold medal win at the Olympics would mark his first and only add to the incredible list of accolades he already has.

Prior to the Olympics starting, Team USA played several showcase games, and won all of them, despite having some close calls. This encouraged Curry to say that Team USA hadn’t played their best basketball yet. Fans will hope that he is right, and Team USA begin to really click as the games in Paris go on.
