Stephen Curry just had one of the best seasons of his career with the Golden State Warriors. He was the one-and-only leader of the team on the court as they clinched an NBA Championship, with Curry winning a unanimous Finals MVP. His performances were incredible and the Warriors finally proved to the world that they didn’t need Kevin Durant to win titles.
Curry took a heavy load and was actually injured coming into the playoffs, missing the last few games of the regular season. After the incredibly tiring post-season everyone has had, it seems Curry will be stepping away from basketball for a bit.
We saw Anthony Davis joke about not shooting a basketball since April, and it seems Curry is joining that same boat. Curry’s trainer Brandon Payne has revealed that Curry won’t be working towards his basketball skills for a while now. The trainer estimates that it will be weeks before Curry shoots a basketball again.
"Steph will take significant time off. He won't shoot a ball for a couple of weeks."

Players have very precise off-season routines that they try to follow. Taking time away from actively playing on a court and with a ball is something they deliberately work into their plans to get some time away from the sport and unwind with their families or go on vacation.
The need for players to rest is often understated when it comes to light practicing. Everyone is conditioned to believe that putting in reps at the gym is all that matters, but being able to disconnect from the game and come with a fresh mindset every season is incredibly important for NBA players that compete at the highest level of the sport.
Curry is going to spend some time with his family and probably do light workouts to stay in shape. After the 2022 Finals MVP went up on his mantle, it seems Curry was more willing to take a step back and just soak the moment in.
