Andrew Wiggins has historically been viewed as a disappointing player, as he was the No. 1 pick in 2014, but didn’t end up becoming a superstar. He is however a very good two-way player and has been the No. 2 offensive option for the Golden State Warriors this year.

The All-Star starters have recently been revealed, and Andrew Wiggins ended up being an All-Star starter. Some were definitely outraged by that happening, as they pointed to players like Devin Booker and Luka Doncic who would have been more deserving of the honor on an individual level.

With that being said, Steve Kerr backed his forward and claimed that Wiggins “deserves” his All-Star nod. He added that everyone in the organization is “thrilled” about his success.

Andrew Wiggins has been averaging 18.1 PPG, 4.2 RPG, and 2.0 APG this season while shooting 40.4% from beyond the arc. There’s no question that he is having a solid season, though it’s fair to say that his scoring could be a little higher. It is clear that he has much improved from his Minnesota Timberwolves days, and it will certainly be exciting for Warriors fans to see him in the All-Star game.

The Golden State Warriors will face the Minnesota Timberwolves later today, and Andrew Wiggins will get the chance to show his former team his improvement. Of course, the Timberwolves got D’Angelo Russell in return for Andrew Wiggins, so it was a good trade for both teams.

There is no doubt that Andrew Wiggins has played a big role in the Golden State Warriors becoming contenders once again, and that he has put in the work to overcome some of his deficiencies as a player. Hopefully, we continue to see Andrew Wiggins improve in the future, and show the world that he indeed does deserve to be viewed as an All-Star caliber player.
