Klay Thompson was a top-tier superstar during the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty years, and there’s no question that his shooting next to Stephen Curry is what allowed the Warriors to transform basketball.

The Golden State Warriors have been without Thompson for the last two seasons though, as he has been out with injuries. It seems as though his return is nearing by the day, and while he hasn’t returned at the Christmas Day mark like many expected, he will likely return in the coming weeks.

Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole have been playing well for the Golden State Warriors, and some would argue that they can hold down the fort while Klay Thompson comes off the bench and gets reacclimated to the NBA game. However, Steve Kerr has no such plans, as he has claimed that Thompson would be starting on his debut.

Klay’s gonna start when he comes back. I’m not gonna mess around, bring him off the bench for a period of time, I’m not doing any of that.

It makes sense that Klay Thompson would come back and start, as he is a multiple-time All-Star who is proven. Guard Jordan Poole would likely move to the bench to stabilize the second unit. Hopefully, this decision works out well for the Golden State Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors have been a very competitive team even without Klay Thompson, and he will be returning to a team that is the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. Adding Thompson back will improve their offensive capabilities, and he can definitely be a player that can be impactful to their title run.

There is no question that the Golden State Warriors have done well, and a lot of analysts have suggested that they’ll win the 2021-22 NBA championship. Klay Thompson will only help in that department, and it’ll be interesting to see how a full-strength Warriors team looks like.
