The Golden State Warriors pulled off one of the most shocking trades of the season so far when they sent Jordan Poole to Washington to land veteran point guard Chris Paul. The Warriors now have a bit of a selection concern, as three of their best players are all guards.

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr spoke about this selection dilemma, noting that he understands the task at hand. However, he seemed optimistic that he would be able to figure out a way to make things work for the squad and put out a solid team for the start of the season.

“All of that will happen in training camp. Until we get everyone on the floor, we won’t be able to assess what’s best for our team and how everything is going to look. But I’m very confident that it’s going to work out”.

“We got great guys and we got great champions, great competitors. There’s one goal next year, and that’s to win at the highest possible level. Everything else will unfold as the season does.”

Kerr clearly knows that this is a good problem, as having too many excellent players to choose from is a concern any coach would like to have. But he will have to make some tough decisions about the line-ups he puts out come the start of the season.

Will Chris Paul Come Off The Bench For The Warriors?

Despite turning 38 years old this year, Chris Paul is still one of the best point guards in the NBA. Paul has made any team he has gone to better over the course of his career. And with his passing ability, combined with the excellent shooting and spacing provided by the other players on the team, he could be successful.

Last season, Chris Paul averaged 13.9 points, 8.9 assists, and 4.3 rebounds with the Phoenix Suns. Some people have suggested that Paul could come off the bench for the Warriors. But it appears Paul isn’t taking that idea seriously.

Paul’s new teammate Stephen Curry seems to think that Paul will make the team more mature, as his experience and pedigree as a leader will benefit the squad. How the Warriors figure out this situation remains to be seen.
