Steven Adams is a long-tenured veteran center for the Memphis Grizzlies, and his experience and skill set was key for the team’s run last year on both ends of the floor. Though Steven Adams isn’t a particularly elite scorer, his offensive rebounding was crucial for the team’s offensive scheme. Last season, Steven Adams averaged 6.9 PPG, 10.0 RPG, and 3.4 APG. His RPG and APG were both career highs.

It seems as though the Memphis Grizzlies have recognized what Steven Adams brings to the team. Adrian Wojnarowski has recently reported that the franchise has recently signed him to a two-year, $25.2 million contract extension.

Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams has agreed on a two-year, $25.2 million contract extension, his agent Darren Matsubara of @wassbasketball tells ESPN. Adams — an immense culture piece for a young roster — is now tied to the Grizzlies for three years, $43.1 million.

Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams has agreed on a two-year, $25.2 million contract extension, his agent Darren Matsubara of Wasserman Basketball tells ESPN. Adams — an immense culture piece for a young roster — is now tied to the Grizzlies for three years, $43.1 million.

Many people expect the Memphis Grizzlies to build on their finish as a No. 2 seed this year and have a productive year while being an elite regular season team. They lost to the Golden State Warriors in the second round during the 2022 playoffs, and there is no doubt that they will hope to avoid that outcome during this upcoming season. It is good to see that they extended a valuable veteran in Steven Adams to continue to be competitive. It is clear that the Grizzlies are aiming for the championship next season.

Steven Adams will be tasked with continuing to support the young core of Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Brandon Clarke during this upcoming season. Hopefully, we see the veteran center have another productive year, and perhaps he’ll be able to help them get further in the postseason.
