One of the biggest stories in the NBA this week has been the incident that occurred after Game 4 of the Dallas Mavericks vs. Phoenix Suns series when Chris Paul’s mom had hands put on her by a fan sitting behind her. New updates have been coming out about the situation, with a video showing exactly what happened and the fan also posting his side of the story on social media.

There is also a further explanation of the situation that is now coming out on social media, with reports that the fans tried to give unwanted hugs to Chris Paul’s family members, who were uncomfortable with the situation. The Mavericks statement has acknowledged what happened and explained that the fans have been banned from coming to the stadium till 2023.

“Two unruly fans attempted to give unwanted hugs and have conversations with members of the Paul family on the public concourse of the American Airlines Center.”

The situation seems to have been blown out of proportion, but with all the updates coming out, it seems to have been dealt with. The series itself has gotten quite intense and the focus will be on basketball as the Mavericks now head to Phoenix trying to steal a game away from home and gain homecourt advantage.

Paul, who struggled in both games in Dallas, will be extra motivated to ensure that his team gets the win on Tuesday. With the situation having irked the legendary point guard, the Mavericks will have to be wary of Paul coming out on fire in Game 5. Furthermore, there could be a concern that Suns fans might also prove to be a little unruly in light of recent events, but hopefully, the conversation after Game 5 will all be about what happens on the court and not off it.
